Technomas

One December many years ago there was a magical day. My HP had turned it's measly 1.2 GB hard drive into a popcorn maker, that somehow never produced anything but the noise and never any popcorn. That wasn't the magical part, magic would be if it had made popcorn.. The magical part was that the new drive was to be brought in and repaired on the 23rd of December, the same exact day my Nintendo 64 pre-order arrived at the local store. So, on that day I got my computer working, and I got to play Mario64. It was a wonderful day, and I found it to be much better than Christmas.

So that day, I used my powers as Pope to proclaim a new holiday, and thus I created Technomas which occurs on the 23rd of December each year. Technomas is the holiday where you go and purchase yourself some cool piece of technology, and/or destroy some piece of electronic junk that has given you headaches. You could also get your cool device repaired under warranty on that day, but scheduling those things can be a pain.

So, go buy yourself that cool gadget no one else would buy you, simply because you can. Myself, I have found that the printer in the office here actually says “PC LOAD LETTER” from time to time, and I'm thinking I'll Office Space it when no one is looking.

So, Happy Technomas to all the true believers. And Happy Holidays to all you heathens.
